What one must understand about Mike Leavitt is that he is one of the best campaigners you will ever meet. He knows how to win elections, proved that from a young age. And then he decided to turn his skills into getting himself elected Governor. And now the little campaign manager has decided to lay the ground to get himself elected US Senator from Utah, hoping to replace Orrin Hatch.

So his blogging is not some 'golly gee wilikers, the Sect is blogging.' It is a cold, calculated action to promote himself, laying the ground work for a return to Utah.

I for one cannot forget his shameless promotion while Governor. His State of the State addresses ended up a parade of props and gimmicks. He fought almost every tax cut that came along, the whirling fish and the subsequent firing of those DWR leaders who opposed him, the gutting of the Highway Patrol leaders who dared endorse a Democrat, the fact that when he left office the ONLY people sad about it - some literally in tears - happened to be Democrats. Sen Minority Leader and ranking Democrat Mike Dimitrich waxing that Mike Leavitt was one of the "greatest Democrat Governors Utah has ever had."

Now his brother is looking to run against Chris Cannon for US Congress. I am thrilled! I like Dave Leavitt but sadly he gets to pay for his older brothers sin. Mike will likely use Dave's campaign to also lay ground work for his own US Senate bid, that is why Dave Leavitt must lose.

Mike, we love you! It is one of the deep, endearing loves of passion: The further away you are, the more we love you. Tanzania sounds great!

His family fish farm and the whirling fish. Like Mitt, he was born into a culture that loves good talkers. They support torture, Murray and Bush. It's struggling workers they show little interest in.

Has lacking integrity never keep the Deseret News from promoting them?
