It should be noted that the current 1997 master plan had designated 9850N as the East/West corridor through Highland, and has been so for many years, with considerable tax money having been used to secure the right of way, with the road already partially built. Earlier this year 9850N was taken off the city's draft 2007 master plan, and replaced with 9600N. Only due to residents showing up at a city council meeting was 9850N placed back on the 2007 draft master plan. No explanation has been offered to date as to why these major changes where made in the draft 2007 plan without public input or knowledge. However when the word had got out on this change, many residents were rightly concerned. Questions remain un-answered, and residents have a right to know what precipitated the change in plan. If its too early in the planning process to say 9600N will be a main east/west corridor, as per Mr Edwards and Mr Seager, how can any proposed changes in the city's 2007 master plan designating 9600N as the choice of road for future consideration in any way of be supported by any factual data
