Bush II explited 9/11 to create an entire industry out of fear, and enriching his cronies at Bechtel, Halliburton, and the Carlyle Group along the way.

Naomi Klein's forthcoming book The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism, should make an interesting read for those who want to understand how the neo-cons are profiting from the chaos they manufacture.
