Leonardo to get extra money from Salt Lake City

This is a joke. They need to stop the bleed. I have never heard of cost increases due to inflation. Either the costs have increased because of material costs or because of poor planning on behalf of the leonardo. I would expect the latter. Salt Lake City Council needs to let this one go. We may need a science building but lets do it a whole lot cheaper than these people are doing. I could do it at half the price. Salt Lake City gave them the old library all they have to do is band-aid it, not paint it with gold leaf.

The Leonardo promises to the the premeir Art, Culture and Science center in Utah and the region - something all SLC and Utah residents can be proud of. New building requirements (LEED Standard)(that save money in the long term), inflation, asbestos removal costs, and other things are all actually increasing the cost. This is a huge bummer, but a reality. I for one am glad to have my City dollars go to support this soon-to-open center! Next time you post a comment Driftin, please use facts - not simply your own ill-informed opinion and heresay. The things that you "have never heard of" are due to ignorance about the challenges of construction not to such challenges not occuring in real life - come on!
