Our hearts ache with the passing of this christian man. He was a man of God in every sense of the word.
Many tears will be shed because we knew him and loved him very much.

Thank you for everything you've done for this great Work, President Faust. Our prayers are with you and your family during this time.

This news hit me hard. I grew up really respecting him and enjoying his talks as I found my own testimony. When I served my mission in Portugal and he came with Elder Holland, I was amazed that after sixty years, he still spoke fluent Portuguese. When Elder Holland sat down and President Faust stood, he just looked over at the interpreter as if to say, "what are you still doing here?" We have lost a great man, and I hope he will live on a little in our own examples.

I'll most remember Pres Faust's loving, kind and gentle spirit, which always showed forth while he taught from the general conference pulpit and in his many writings. As a lawyer myself, I have learned much from his teachings and example. Kindest wishes and sincerest condolences to his wife, family and loved ones.

First to the family of President Faust, my sincere condolances. Having lost my husband eight years ago, I understand the feelings of loss that come with death, I also understand the feeling of elation in the knowledge that this is just a short separation and that his family will be reunited with him forever..The thing I most remember about President Faust is that when he spoke I felt the spirit...THAT has been a blessing to me in my life. Thank you and bless you all.

Secondly, my heart goes out to a post entered earlier by Micheal (didn't post last name). I will pray that your heart will come to the knowledge that your opinion is not based on fact or truth, but a desire of other men to destroy what they can't understand. May you learn as a christian that forgiveness not judgement is the truth Christ taught and may the Lord bless you to understand the truth in your lifetime. I'm so sorry others have twisted the truth and taught you to be unkind and hateful towards others. It makes my heart very sad indeed.

Gentle and kind are the first words I think of when I think of Pres. Faust. He was a gentle giant and will be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and to Pres. Hinckley and all those who were his close associates.

First, our deepest thoughts and prayers are with President Faust's family. What a tribute to a man to have his children comment on his love and respect for his sweet wife. The world would be a better place if more women were treated as such, felt important and given the opportunity to be good mothers because they felt loved and respected. What a great challenge to all the men who read this to commit today to follow this great example. Heavenly Father expects this from you and your sweethearts and children need this from you. Thank you to the Faust family for supporting President Faust in his service to the Lord and all people. We have all been greatly blessed.

Elder Faust touched my young family's heart with his heartfelt and spirit-filled General Conference Talks. I will always remember my young children speaking his name when asked who he was during our dinner time conversations. We won't forget the lessons taught during his most recent talk on Forgiveness. Farewell, Elder Faust and thanks for living what you believe and know to be true.

Heaven may be richer for having him there, but we are very rich for having known him, and for having heard and read his teachings.

President Faust practiced what he preached.. We will miss his kind and gentle demeanor and his out stretched hand to all, regardless of stature. Now he is in the company of the Lord.

He was good right to the very center of his bones. I will never forget hearing him speak in person and jotting down what he said in the margins of my scriptures. Here was a man who "knew" and when he testified that he knew, I knew he knew! What a man!

Who will replace the church's adopted grandfather? Who can measure the amount of love he generated? His good works, his example, his spirit, and his testimony were a mountain of strength for all who would take the time to listen and watch. A true giant has fallen in the forest, but will not be forgotten.

I loved President Faust and will truly miss him. I will remember for the rest of my life his story of not helping his Grandmother fill the wood bin when he easily could have and the tears that still brought to his eyes after all those years. It taught me a lot.

I heard the news in an email my father sent to me. Tears immmediately came to my eyes and I felt moved to pray for his family, and to again thank my Heavenly Father for the blessing of living on this earth with Prophets and Apostles such as President Faust! His kind face was always most welcome at conference, and his testimony even more so. Thank you for sharing your husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather with all of us. Isn't it wonderful to have temple blessings available to us? he exemplified building eternal relationships and I thank him.

God bless you and your family President Faust. You were always an inspiration to me. I treasure the times I met with you. Although I mourn your passing and the loss of one so valiant in the faith, I rejoice in your righteous example of one who endured to the end. I pray for peace for your family and loved ones. In a world that celebrates evil more and more, may we all so strive to live like Christ.

Probably the most poignant talk I heard -- and best glimpse into the goodness of President Faust's soul, was when he recounted the story of not helping his grandmother get some firewood:

"As a small boy on the farm during the searing heat of the summer, I remember my grandmother Mary Finlinson cooking our delicious meals on a hot woodstove. When the wood box next to the stove became empty, Grandmother would silently pick up the box, go out to refill it from the pile of cedar wood outside, and bring the heavily laden box back into the house. I was so insensitive and interested in the conversation in the kitchen, I sat there and let my beloved grandmother refill the kitchen wood box. I feel ashamed of myself and have regretted my omission for all of my life. I hope someday to ask for her forgiveness."

Tears were streaming down his face and he had difficulty speaking because he felt so sorry not helping his grandmother. It provided a great view of the absolute integrity of this beloved man. I learned so much from President Faust and grieve with millions of other Saints at his passing.

I'll never forget the talk he gave at Conference when he related the story of how his grandmother had asked him to bring in wood when he was a boy and he had failed to do it - later he saw her doing the task. Even as late in his life as it was when he told this story, he still wept at the thought of having let his grandmother down. What a dear soul and powefully humble leader. His goodness will be missed in this world and by all who knew him.
