mooning does not equal drunk driving. Maybe I'm mistaken, but drunk driving requires alcohol, not a rear.

Mr. Really....are you really for real. Your preachy condescending tone is not needed here. Apology accepted.

I guess my reaction is different than anyone else's. I laughed at the story -- because I've experienced almost the same situation (without the mooning.) However, I still think the boy was wrong; no, quilts can't quickly be moved somewhere else; no, it really doesn't work to have a basketball bouncing wildly about when people who are not really watching the ball could get hit - not to mention the problem of a ball landing in the middle of the quilt. Can we learn several things from the story? Yes. Especially if we all lighten up.

Karen I'm with you...of course he was wrong. Just because we laugh at the humor of the story doesn't mean we condone what he did. But the key word is BOY. He did a dumb thing like many kids do.

If you have a sense of humor enjoy the story, laugh a little, and move on with life.

If you don't find the story humorous...that's okay too.

If you were offended by the story and want to preach to those of us that did find it humorous...that's not okay. If you're in that category lighten up for heaven's sake.

My first thought was, "Why didn't the R.S. move to another room? They can sit on those padded chairs in the RS room anyway. Sounds like the RS sister needed any attitude adjustment herself. The boys can't play basketball anywhere else in the church but certainly quilt work can be done in several different rooms. Remember Sisters: "Charity never Faileth"

Why should the relief society move? They scheduled the room, they probably wanted to finish in time for mutual, and I doubt they had 20 minutes to stop working and up and move their stuff. Sounds to me like they were the saints in this story, quilting for a charity. As you said Scott, Charity never faileth.

Yep, kids will be kids. But if the RS sisters really needed to stay put for whatever reason, that was their right and I don't think they should have felt the need to justify themselves to some unsupervised youth.

The story isn't about the RS sisters who didn't want to move, or how inappropriate the act of mooning them was. It was about remembering that we are all human and make mistakes. That we should see the person, not the sin. Having worked my way back from excommunication, I can tell you that if it wasn't for the wonderful people of the Hunter 27th ward, I wouldn't be a member today. They saw me, a good person who had made a bad choice but was working to ammend it. That is was repentance is all about... more members need to remember that. We are not the judges, that's the Lords job.

Twin you do make valid points with scheduling, time to move but try to step back and look at the bigger picture with youth. I want the youth there in the church and do what it takes even if there may not be an adult with them for a few minutes. What will be their other options when some of them leave. Not all young boys come from loving LDS families and will have a tremendous place to go home to. I also realize his actions were completely wrong in his response to the situation.

I am reading this to my Teacher's Quorum on Sunday, then following up with a lesson on "forgiving to recieve forgiveness"... since the boy seems to be begging for full forgiveness, but does not seem to want to forgive the RS sisters.
Having said that.. people need to lighten up.. geeeeez.. the sister should have spanked his butt when it was bare.. then everyone should have forgotten about it..
