Drink water when you're hungry and wait 15 minutes to see if you're still as hungry or if you were just thirsty...a great tip!

If one thinks about it, it makes sense: the human body needs, say, 8 glasses of water per day on average - both from drinks and food - which is about 8 cups! But the average person only needs about 250-300 g of carbs per day (just over a cup), 75 g of protein (1/4 cup), and perhaps 50 g of fat (1/5 cup). Again, I'm just eyeballing here - these numbers will vary depending on your age, activity level, if you're pregnant, etc.

The point is that the body needs way more water, ounce for ounce, than any other macronutrient. Most of us are eating too much protein, too many carbs (especially simple, empty carbs), and too much fat. Is it any wonder so many people are overweight or obese?
