first you take out the paddle, then ciggerets, and then you could allow educators to bring a gun to school??? schools are not the place for guns , trained officers have their guns taken from them, what a risk to our kids, and other teachers, what next?? many school districts need more funding and programs to help children who are at risk, children today are facing problems we never had to. many are angry with broken homes ,drug addicted parents, with few resources to receive the help they need. lets not focus on guns, lets focus on the safety of our teachers and kids. if a gun is not there it cant go off!

"Let's focus on the safety of our kids"......that's what were talking about Rebecca, I agree.....but, "If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns" Outlaws don't care about rules, permits and licenses, they will get a gun any way they can.....most likely illegally. If that outlaw comes into my alternative school where I teach, my students and I will follow all the lockdown procedures the school and district have in place. But if that outlaw, in his fit of rage, finds me and my 30 students in our "lockdown safezone" and I have my legal concealed weapon available to me then that's as far as he's going to go and those 30 kids go home to their families that night. Yes....it's all about the safety of the kids

Guns do NOT just "go off" by themselves! They do not magically grow hands and randomly shoot people! It takes a human being to operate a gun or any weapon for that matter. Bad guys, druggies, mentally ill persons, and criminals can usually get a firearm if they try hard enough. If they cannot get a firearm they will use a knife or club. Where good people carry guns, crime has been dramatically reduced (FBI reports). The media does not report guns saving lives for obvious reasons...just the negative aspect. I have carried a "concealed firearm" everyday for 10 years, I have saved two lives in this time due to this fact, and I now carry it at school every day without incident. Self-defense is the most basic God-given right, as our Founding Fathers understood. Get training, practice, and carry a gun, the life you save might just be your own.
