Africa orphans need adoption

I watched a documentary on African orphans by CNN I agree that the crises is too great to worry about race. I also believe that the adopted child needs to grow up learning about and loving his/her country and culture so he/she may grow up with the desire to go back as doctors and nurses to help the people of their birth country. Iam a fifty yearold empty nester, my husband and I feel we have enough love and energy to raise one or two more children. Are we considered too old?

Ms. Roby has many great points in this article. My husband and I are raising our two adopted African American sons age 5 and 7. We also have open adoptions. We teach them they are children of God and about thier culture and the history of the Blacks. It is awesome to see them remember thier ansestors in different conversations. We want everyone to know the love is as strong,wonderful and bonding as with our grown "born to us" children! We will continue to raise our boys and prepare them the best we can -most of to love who they are and respect all cultures. One day we traded skin colors at my then 6 yr olds prompting. My sister sells makeup and sent us the darkest they make and the lightest they make, I became "Black" and the boys became "White" we quickly decided we were all made the right color afterall. After a fast photo we scrubbed off our fake faces. We looked so much better the way Heavenly Father made us!
