My dad gave me a copy of this article after I had voulenteered at the Humanitarian Center several times. I wanted to make a difference somehow and after reading this woman's amazing story of survival I realized that putting together these kits can make a big difference to someone somewhere. Now when I go to the Humanitarian Center I imagine people like her or a woman who may have had to bring her baby home in a newspaper instead of a receiving blanket, and it makes me feel happy knowing that something so simple as a hygiene kit or a baby kit will brighten someone elses day. I know I have the ability to make a difference to someone and this story confirmed that.

As a result of this article, hearts were touched in our Ward and every month we are donating from 46 to 136 higiene kits plus other supplies such as blankets, school bags, baby items, hats, tropical sore bandages, dresses for children and adults, receiving blankets etc. It has been a great blessing for us as we unite together in this worthy effort. We have become missionary minded as well and as of Sunday, have 19 full time missionaries and 4 service missionaries serving around the world.
Having served a mission to Nigeria we know how important this work is and especially now with the increase in petrol and food.

Wow how terrible is that. I would've never thought I would get my limbs severed.
