Good story and strengthens the old addage if you're not playing for the love of the game then what are you playing for? I wish this guy would have watched the Rookie and realized that the opportunity he had to play Major League Baseball is extremely special and a tragedy he walked away from it. As far as fulfillment, I guess developing real estate would be considered fulfilling?

I lived in the Los Angeles area while Christensen played for the Dodgers in 2001. Although a brief tenure, he was an exciting ballplayer that was quickly garnering fan support (a .329 batting average doesn't hurt, 49 at-bats or not). I would have given most anything for his opportunity in the Majors, but if the heart is not in it then it's time to hang them up.
