Of all the polygamous sect leaders Owen Allred stood above the rest in trying to work successfully with the outside world. He seems like a man of kindness and good will.

I met Mr Allred in Solihull England over 16 years ago. While I disagree with the continuing practice of Plural Marriage, as well as the supposed priesthood authority, I have to admit that Mr Allred did have a quiet spirit about him; he truely believed that he was preserving something important and sacred.

I have had many interactions with members of the AUB and find them to be honest and forthright people. They are nothing like the other splinter groups and are a God fearing people. I do believe in the principle, but the law and the practice need to catch up.
