Of all the polygamous sect leaders Owen Allred stood above the rest in trying to work successfully with the outside world. He seems like a man of kindness and good will.

I met Mr Allred in Solihull England over 16 years ago. While I disagree with the continuing practice of Plural Marriage, as well as the supposed priesthood authority, I have to admit that Mr Allred did have a quiet spirit about him; he truely believed that he was preserving something important and sacred.

I have had many interactions with members of the AUB and find them to be honest and forthright people. They are nothing like the other splinter groups and are a God fearing people. I do believe in the principle, but the law and the practice need to catch up.

I had just stumbled upon this document in my family research. I appreciate your honesty and open minded opinion of my grandfather. I enjoyed growing up living next to him and to this day I carry strong values and morals he taught to me. Though I didn't agree with his religion and left at a young age, he still supported me fully on my life endeavors. I was loved by him and still resided in the neighborhood with him up to a few years prior to his death. He had a truly enormous spirit and heart and I feel, if he had the chance, he would have tried to get all people of all religions to just get along and love one another no matter their differences. He was a truly great man that had the greater good of all in mind in each and every breath he took.

Thank you again.
