Does bill endanger children?

I was looking for photos of families online so that I could turn some of them into clipart for my work.
I saw photos of a little boy with black eyes and bruises on his neck and it startled me so sharply that I had to go back to find out why ANYONE would post these photos.
Clicking on the photos brought me to your article. Thank you for writing it. Children absolutely need to be protected from abusive parents. Discipline is one issue, but abuse us another and it's intolerable.
I wish your state luck in its attempt to address child abuse and I sincerely wish that we could find a reasonable and effective method to curb it. I think 5 years is too short for the mother to have received as her jail sentance. As a grandmother, I am now grieving for that little boy. You put a face and a definition to the child abuse situation. I won't forget it.
