300 to 400 years for natures cycle to replenish our forest sounds like an
approach we would use if we were living and the 17th century. I believe with
modern technology and common sense effort, we could have healthy forest in this
lifetime. The day of let it burn, let the beetles have their way, let the
standing dead stand, and no one allowed in the forest except healthy hikers
should come to a end. My plea goes out not to the enviormentalist, not to the
logging industry, but to the average joe, the concerned american who feels his
small voice will never be heard! We need to voice our opinons and ideas to our
local forest, blm, and elected officials. We need studies in Utah done on
subjects like the effects of grazing, ( does it help keep wild grasses trimed
down ) tree thinning, standing dead removal, beetle extermination. All these
things we can do in our lifetime. We can make a conscious effort to protect our
forest. The pendulum has swung to far to the enviormentalist way. If we do not
act now, we will see the destruction of our forest and blm land in this lifetime
