Obama vs. Bush | 8:31 a.m. Jul. 7, 2009
Doesn't matter what Obama does, he'll never get the bad press that Bush got. Even when Bush did something right, even when the economy was getting better as we recovered from 9/11 - there was always a "but" in every story. Whereas, with the economy in far worse shape than ever, every time they report the bad news now, the "but" is "but it's not as bad as it could have been, as bad as last month, this shows we're soon going to hit bottom, etc. etc. etc."

Who is John Galt?

The loser in the last election was not McCain or Palin or Romney or the GOP - it was the American press who lost all vestiges credibility with its blatant Obamapolooza. The New York Times has the credibility of The Enquirer and Newsweek has gone completely insane.
The fact that Obama's policies are not popular guarantees that his personal polularity will eventually fall to meet those same ratings, in spite of an adoring press. The only question is: How much damage will be done in the mean time?

What? What Obama did is only straining the relationship? Please, reporters have sold their soul. This would be tantamount to impeachment if Bush had done it.

Hey Rosie, what three countries did you live in that had "socialized medicine? Your comment suggests that you have actual experience, but you sort of insinuate that you have experience with goverments that offer single payer medical systems. If you have actual experience, tell us what, when, where and how.

We have the best healthcare system in the world? you better check the facts a little better. By all international health care rating systems we are not in the top 20.

Somehow, I doubt that you ever voted for Obama.

Rosie, you are so right, except, he's doing exactly what he said he was going to do. But, people didn't listen to the content of his mostly empty speeches. I heard him say several times that he would redistribute wealth, take down coal generated power plants, and burden us with a carbon tax to control a nonexistent global warming issue all so he could finance his holy trinity energy, education, health care plan. Government motors and the financial sector just came as a bonus ahead of time.

I would like to see this press secretary go. He seems to be arrogant, condescending, and self serving. He seems to pontificate and rambles on all the time. It is not even interesting to hear these press conferences. Tony Snow on the other hand was diplomatic, to the point, intelligent, etc.

As "Press relects ratings" wrote.
"As Obama said, if the press does their job correctly it will help him be a better Pres".

As far as I'm concerned, the only thing that would make Obama a better president would be for him to resign!

Thanks for sharing the press conference video. I am delighted to see that the 4th arm of the government, the press, is starting to rise up and make its presence known. That is critical to the protection of our freedoms in America.

Jay -

While you say this is a sign that Obama's honeymoon is starting to end, I wouldn't hold my breath.

Why?

Quite simply, the VAST majority of the media is cramming a liberal agenda down our throats 24/7 for decades now so it's unlikely that they'll suddenly start reporting the truth, ie, things as they really are.

Possible, but very, very doubtful.

I voted for Obama. Boy am I sorry now. We were scammed, by a pro. The bazillion dollar bailout that was poorly thought out and removed ALL HOPE of the economy righting itself...the GM takeover by Herr Obama...the takeover of our financial industry...the takeover of the BEST HEALTHCARE SYSTEM IN THE WORLD (lived in three countries besides the USA...SOCIAL MEDICINE STINKS! YOU DON'T SEE PEOPLE FLOCKING TO CANADA FOR MEDICAL CARE OR GB FOR DENTAL CARE!EVEN JANE SEYMOUR SAID SHE MOVED HER KIDS OVER HERE JUST FOR ORTHODONTICS!) I've never seen anyone take office that disappointed so fast. He's the Pinnochio of politicians.
Press reflects ratings | 12:16 a.m. Jul. 3, 2009
It is interesting to note that according to the Pew report, PBS and NPR had the highest number of neutral reporting--which is why I've been a fan of these programs for a long time.

I hope the press does a better job than they did during the Bush Administration. Let us not forget Armstrong Williams who was paid $186,000 to speak favorably of the No Child Left Behind Act. The Bush Administration also excelled at the ready-to-air, prepackaged "news" stories touting their policies, without revealing they were the source. Finally we had the fake news conference staged by FEMA during the Bush years. Can it get any lower that that?

As Obama said, if the press does their job correctly it will help him be a better Pres.
