Agreed that Espindola's rating is way off. What about the possession game between him and Javi in the corner which creates tons of space in the middle for Yura as well as Kyle and Clint making runs through. As far as Espy not making a run on one play...maybe that should be taken off of Yura's scorecard for de-motivating his teammate after not passing the ball to him the first 10 times he did make the correct run. Anyway the game was fun to be at and I hope many supporters will be back out for Friday's game against San Jose to enjoy the fireworks. Sure would be nice to get 2 wins in a row at home in front of 17,000 plus! Oh and La Barra Real are freaking awesome. I hope to join them next season although as a season ticket holder since the team was created it would be a downgrade in seats it would be a huge upgrade in atmosphere!!!
Guess who I didn't miss??? | 11:26 a.m. Jun. 29, 2009
Olave!!
I say let him sit out for a couple of games unless we have to push Russell up to the midfield to take Beckerman's call up to the MNT.
Congrats Beckerman!

I am sure you were sitting down in your lazy-chair to not appreciate the hustling play and team oriented attack from Espy.
In many plays the ball was passed too far away from him and he knows he wouldnīt reach it. He was also frustrated not to receive passes being alone without a defender around in the box.
We all know about Movsisianīs strenghts and passing the ball is not one of his.
The most important thing is the win, and seeing the offensive kind of play from the team. I agree with FM about Espindolaīs English proficiency, he did not have a single press even considering that Real is winning since he was call as a starter.
With regard to Morales, it looks that he will miss some games, he is the target of every midfielder without enough attention from the referees.

Espindola did hustle, but blew some sure chances on goal by not running on a couple link up plays. I agree with the grade as Espy is still clearly trying to find his groove with the team. Give him a couple more weeks but for now I agree with the ranking.

...ignore the stated reason for Espindola's curious grade here. Trust me, if Espindola spoke perfect English he'd have been given the default DesNews "7" last night. It's a built-in negative bias this sports section doesn't even comprehend it has. Moreover, the group-think local soccer press didn't have Olave to kick around either.
Nice match overall. Keep the points rolling in Friday, RSL!

You have to stop rating negatively. You are going to give Espindola an 5 because of one play?He had great skill work, created problems and hustled the whole game. Real won or didn't you know that? Everyone should get a 9 or higher. You'd think you were a writer from Toronto.
