lets hope for a UCONN vrs BYU NCAA tournament game, and settle the question of player of the year there. teams in the East have the higher population, so presumably are the moneymaker markets for media, thus they will always get more attention and higher ratings than in smaller markets...but marketers ought to take note of the number of BYU followers all aroung the world, because of the religion, and a constant turnover of a 26,000 plus enrollment. Go Cougars.
Anyone reading the write-ups (if out of order) would assume Jimmer was in the #1 spot. The writers just couldn't bring themselves to pull the trigger. This wasn't a piece on which team is best, but was entitled "Top Five College Basketball Performances". Based on the write-ups and the shear numbers it is hard to reconcile the Jimmer suppression factor (even the write-up admits that Jimmer has been thrust into #1 for Player of the Year, based on performance)! Oh well, it is probably better that Jimmer and BYU remain hungry.
Walker's performance outranks Jimmers? Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Come on. Let's get real here. Walker's was a very impressive performance. Fredette's was a mind-boggling one.
This is hilarious. I can hear the deseret news "Let's mix it up and put Kemba #1" conversation now. Silly, silly. They can't be serious can they? Another example of media creating hype.
Why are BYU fans so insecure? East coast sportswriters and sportswriters in general have always believed BYU is a not quite ready for prime time program, and there's evidence to back them up. The big win this year was against another MWC team. If Fredette continues to do this in March against the traditional powers, the writers will all come around.
