10 influential women in U.S. politics

Women serving in the U.S. political arena are making a name for themselves in both the Democratic and Republican parties for their ability to lead, make decisions, take risks and stick to their convictions, even though men still dominate the political scene. This growing demographic is gaining attention as women play a stronger role in the world of politics.

I don't understand why Palin or Backmann are included in the list. Neither of them have any substance, and neither of them are truly influential (except, of course, with the far right wingers who have skewed the Repubican Party to the fringes. If the list-makers wanted to include truly influential Republican women, they should have included smart, accomplished women like Christine Todd Whitman or Kay Bailey Hutchinson or Olympia Snowe or Susan Collins instead of losers like Palin or Bachmann.
