Real Salt Lake vs. San Jose Earthquakes Report Card
At 93 degrees at kickoff, near zero percent humidity, blowdryer like winds and wildfire smoke so strong in the air you could smell it, it was no surprise Saturday night to see both RSL and San Jose come out lethargic. It took RSL 20 minutes to get their motors running, but once they did, they controlled possession, for the most part, throughout the rest of the first half. They came out more energized in the second half and it looked like they might be able to break from the defensive chess match but it was San Jose who scored first, and last, to hand Real Salt Lake their third home loss in their last three home games and move to the top of the mountain the west with a 10-3-3 record and 33 points. One clear of RSL at 9-4-1 and 32 points.
