Uh oh! Northern Colorado! We all remember what happened last time they played a Colorado team!
@RevK
Uh oh! BYU! And we all remember what happened last time they played a team from Provo!
This list would be a lot more interesting if it had a short summary of each of Utah's opponents' spring games and/or an analysis of their position strengths and weaknesses coming out of spring ball. I have no interest in going to 12 separate web pages to read a full-blown report on each team's spring game.
You all know we are going there, so let's get right to it. Utah schedule vs. BYU schedule, with predicted rankings provided by CFN:
3 common opponents: Utah State (#83), Oregon State (#78), and Washington State (#61).
Head to head: Once again, will be a great game. Go Utes!
Remaining games for each team:
UTAH:
006 - USC
038 - Cal
039 - BYU
048 - Washington
056 - UCLA
059 - Arizona State
072 - Arizona
075 - Colorado
BYU:
013 - Utah
017 - Boise State
026 - Georgia Tech
030 - Notre Dame
089 - Hawaii
095 - San Jose State
104 New Mexico State
116 - Idaho
My analysis/prediction:
Utah plays one great team. Some mention USC as a possible National Champion.
BYU plays four Top 30 teams. With a few breaks, they could all be in the Top 20 at season's end.
11 of Utah's opponents have the potential of beating the Utes. Yes, last year's season finale loss to the Buffs still stings, and Pac 12 teams field enough talent that they are always dangerous.
BYU almost never loses to people they are "supposed" to beat. With that in mind, they have 5 obvious wins.
Both teams finish 9-3.
Utah wins at RES!
Utah '95:
As a Cougar fan, I partly agree with your analysis. I predict a tougher game for the Utes against BYU and I am praying for an upset when USC comes calling to RES.
Fun seasons for both teams!
RevK - Cougar fans shouldn't pick on Northern Colorado. BYU may need the Bears to fill out a future November schedule.
