It’s not exactly midseason yet, but with the U.S. Open Cup and Canadian Championship on teams’ schedules, rosters are being stretched in every possible direction. It might be a clichÉ, but every time a regular player has to be rested or picks up an injury, it gives somebody else a chance to step up and get some minutes. Few things are more exciting, both as a player and a fan, than seeing a young rookie make his Major League Soccer debut.
