In 2010, the U.S. Supreme Court allowed the use of so-called Super PACs. These groups could raise unlimited funds to support elections.

While the PACs can't give directly to candidates, they can have unlimited political spending.

If he manages to win, I wonder how much this will cost him in "quid pro quo".

Dear Ranch: EVERY presidential candidate has donors. Obama has raised a lot more than Romney. He's beholden to unions, environmental groups and guys like Bill Maher, etc., etc.

Romney's main donors are in the financial "industry," the very cast of characters that derailed the world economy. I highly recommend the PBS program, "Money, Power and Wall Street," to anyone who wants a good education on this subject. Can be viewed at their online website.

Dear Cats: I would rather have any elected official beholden to unions and environmental groups, rather than the Financial industry. It wasn't the Unions or Environmentalists that had an overwhelming influence in creating the unstable markets we are in today.

Everyone only criticizes the donations made to the "other guy".

Donations, whether to Republicans or Democrats are NOT done for free. There are expectations.
And those expectations are usually fulfilled.

That goes for donations by corporations and unions as well as others.

Until YOU stand up for combating the Citizens United ruling and to look at campaign finance reform and lobby reform nothing will change.

It is not only the money given to the other party that corrupts.

Our politicians are all bought and paid for with this money.

How many of you on the right think the Citizens United ruling is bad for our country?
How many of you on the left are happy to see all the union money?

THAT is what is wrong with our political system.

What if we had the option of voting for someone who wasn't beholden to the financial services industry or receive millions from law firms and unions? We do. His name is Ron Paul. This is what Terry Holt, a former Republican staffer said about trying to get Ron Paul to trade votes or keep the party line:

"The thing about Ron Paul is, what does he want that we have? He has never been someone who was interested in being co-opted or in trading and dealing."
When I was a staffer in the Republican leadership..., whenever we were trying to find votes for whatever we were doing, he would tell us how he was voting and that was that."

I wish I had that kind of money to donate. If I did, it would absolutely go to Mitt Romney.

Wall Street??

Did you even read the list??

These guys are in all types of businesses.
Grocery, Real Estate, Network Marketing, Coal, Healthcare, etc.

If you care about the facts you will note the actual Wall Street Bailout receiving big wigs give way more money to Democrat Liberals than to Moderates or Conservatives.

Ask Yourself who would Timothy Geitner give too, were did he come from, where is he now and why did he cheat on his taxes?? (just one example of a liberal Wall Street Democrat).

Well I guess I won't be staying at Marriott hotels anymore.

I don' t understand why supposedly intelligent businesspeople risk alienating half of their customers this way. I guess they figure purchasing influence is worth the risk.

Nowhere near what Obama's quid pro quo has cost us.

If I had $10 million, I'd give it to Romney. In fact, I'd give him everything I have if it guaranteed his victory. This next election is absolutely critical to the very existence of our freedoms - and I'm not talking about gay marriage, the economy/jobs or the debt. If Obama puts in one or two more extreme left wing Supreme Court Liberals (like Sotamayor or Kagan), you can kiss your Second Amendment goodbye along with numerous other freedoms. God bless Romney and God bless America!!!

My donation if I made one wouldn't make a difference anyway.
