How hard can it be to pick the top 10 moments since BYU only has 10 victories out of 28 appearances?
It will be just as easy to pick 10 moments for the Utes, Howard, since they have only had 10 meaningful seasons in their entire football history to choose from.
I'm really looking forward to the bowl streak ending in humiliating fashion for the Utes, as well, Howard. Have a nice day.
It's "Best Moments," not "Best Victories."
Wow as a ardent Ute fan, I hesitatie but must admit, I saw all but the Missouri game. Looks like I missed a good one. While I am proud now that the Utes have added a number of equally great moments over the last fifteen years, I can certainly remember cheering for BYU with my BYU buddies - particularly the SMU game.
Here's hoping that both the Utes and BYU win their next bowls, perhaps adding to this list.
these were great to remember....having grown up in Utah these are part of our football history, and I am not a Cougar fan by any means. Go Aggies!
The Top 10 Utah bowl moments between 1965 and 1991 were? Anybody? Anybody? See...it's easy to hate. Both programs have had their rough years (or decades) and we need to remember that. Good luck to Utah and BYU. It's still great to be a fan.
Totally Agree with #1 and #3. Those two finishes were absolutely amazing and they were performed by the two best Quarterbacks to come out of BYU.
The 1980 Holiday Bowl miracle comeback is still the greatest memory of college football from my childhood. Great Memory. NOt even a BYU fan first but they had some great games. Loved the Holiday Bowls.
Good luck in New Mexico.
@ Howard S, thanks for your kind words. Tru fan of football you are.
The short resumés of the games were good, but usually the pictures didn't reflect what was being said. Next time, maybe they can get in synch.
Otherwise, loved the memories!
fun walk down memory lane. Anyone know who the man is in the picture with McMahon?
I love BYU, but they are one of the worst bowl teams ever and can't seem to prep for the post season (in basketball either). I am envious of Utah's bowl record the last 10 years...
I wish this year they had taken a pass on the bowl in NM. How pathetic we are playing UTEP and are both 6-6. Better to tell the boys to work harder and deserve to go to a real bowl. Top programs get where they are by winning the big ones. Not a part of the Y's sports legacy yet.
Florwood:
I believe that is Jim McMahon's father in the picture giving him the hug and grabbing the front of his shirt... not giving him an uppercut.
Makes that an Iconic photo of a young athlete that never gave up as a BYU QB sharing the moment with his dad.
