The sophomore QB made his first career start against Tulane last weekend, completing 21-of-38 passes for 260 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. He also rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown. However, he suffered a concussion in the second half and was taken out of the game.
The 245-pound freshman is averaging six yards per carry in Hawaii's last eight games — 494 yards on 83 carries.
The senior QB replaced Graves in the fourth quarter and completed 9-of-10 passes for 98 yards. If Graves can't play against BYU, Austin is expected to start.
Brown has recorded three interceptions this season, including one last weekend against Tulane. He is among the WAC leaders in fumbles recovered (first), tackles-for-loss (third), tackles (seventh), interceptions (ninth) and sacks (12th).
Though the sophomore is dealing with a knee injury, he recorded a game-high 13 tackles against Tulane. He is No. 8 in the Western Athletic Conference, averaging 8.1 tackles per game.
