With speculation mounting that BYU is on its way to the Big East Conference, at least in football, we wanted to see what those on the street had to say about the subject. Here are a few of their responses.
"I think it would be positive and negative if they join the Big East. They can have an opportunity to play better teams and show that they themselves are better than most teams, but they may have problems against those teams because of the teams they have played this year."
"I think it would be great if BYU got invited. I think there has been talks about the Big East losing its BCS bid, but if they can keep it it would be great for BYU because they can get the opportunity to go to the BCS."
"If they go they will get a BCS bowl bid and maybe more money, but I don't think they will get any more exposure than what they have right now."
"I think right now the level of the Pac-12 against the independence of BYU is causing the rivalry to deplete and if BYU joins the Big East I think the rivalry would disintegrate even more because Utah would have no reason to play BYU, even in the preseason."
"I don't think them joining the Big East would be beneficiary to BYU. I like them independent. I don't think every school should do it, but they need to live with their actions. They chose to go independent and I think they need to stay that way."
