The only way I commit to play for the Y is if football is NOT my most important concern. If I want to play college football on the big stage of the Pac 12 plus have a shot at playing the NFL then the U is the obvious choice. BYU is an independent and after the dust settles it may be just BYU alone since Army and Navy are leaving for the Big East and ND may be moving to the Big 10. Trying to survive as an independent in the new world of super conferences is going to be impossible money wise and money makes or breaks a program. BYU is playing a game of musical chairs and they had better find somewhere to sit before the music stops!!
Yes, because the NFL only drafts players from the Pac 12. Anybody playing anywhere else doesn't have a shot. And don't forget every player that plays at the U gets a free ticket to the NFL. There are some good players at every school and they will get looks just like anyone else.
What is the real percentage of college players that actually make it to the NFL? That the better question is. Who got a paid education for doing what they love???
Do a Google Search for Big East expansion and you will find that The Big East are interested in inviting Navy, Air Force, Boise State and UCF. Not Army. It hardly matters though. If Notre Dame is forced to go to the Big 10 being and independent will become awfully lonely.
I think BYU wants players who don't have football as their most important concern. So I guess it works out for everybody. Three of the five top performances listed here were by kids committed to BYU. It looks like BYU is doing just fine on the recruiting front compared to other Utah schools.
It's nice to see Chase Hansen doing so well. Looking forward to seeing him wear crimson and white.
A friend of mine with some connections to a big time Notre Dame booster told me ND has no interest in the Big 10. Their intent is to stay independent as long as possible and they have the resources in place to do it. If they do go to a conference (and they could have their pick), they would favor the ACC to gain better access to east coast and Florida recruits.
Gurney ought to go check his sources.....Pau'u has all but de-committed from BYU.
Dear Patriot,
I realize you must be disappointed about only 1 of the top 5 performing H.S. recruits being headed to Utah, and 3 of the top 5 being headed to BYU, but your testimonial against BYU is not going to turn away any of the quality players who will continue to recognize BYU as a very high quality football program with a very bright future.
Kosta Fesenko, um.. no he hasn't? He's still very much commited to byu.
Patriot, "The only way I commit to play for the Y is if" I didn't know the Y was even looking at you. Do you have anything on youtube I can look up?
Pau'u sounds like a beast. 20 tackles? Amazing.
"Pau'u has all but de-committed from BYU." What are Fesenko's sources? ESP? The newspaper? Wishful thinking? When did you talk to him last? More lately than BYU?
