Hairston is a great athlete who played two seasons at North Carolina before landing with the Texas Legends of the NBA Developmental League a year ago. During his time in the D-league, Hairston showed his immense ability to score the basketball in numerous ways. He was fantastic at attacking the rim and getting to the free-throw line (87 percent on 146 attempts, according to basketball-reference.com), while also proving to have good range on his jumper.

In 26 games (15 starts) with Texas, Hairston averaged 21.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals.
