I always knew we had so many things in common with Paris and Rome. Now they'll be even more like Provo!

The picture of the 'Disney' castle looking structure with this article says it all.

A little better picture of the area of Afton, Wyoming is in order, I believe.

Thanks for the photos of the buildings under construction.

Hutterite - What exactly does it say? Maybe something like "Dreams do come true" and "The happiest place on earth for families" Yep, I agree.

I remember when the Washington DC Temple was the newest Temple.

I was home teacher to a semi-active family -- husband, wife, and two-year-old son. They had a magazine with a full-page picture of each Temple.

The little boy and I had fun looking at the pictures. I would name each Temple, and he would repeat after me.

In just a few weeks, he could see any Temple picture and name it! I was happy, and his parents were tickled pink.

That family was sealed in the Temple, and had three children born in the covenant. The little boy grew up to serve an honorable mission. If his firstborn son is not already on a mission, he will be soon.

We have more Temples under construction now than had been built back then. I am overwhelmed.

I have a question. A long time ago I remember reading this prophecy, but I have never heard anyone mention it in all my years in the church, so I am wondering if I really read this or not. I want to say it was in the Church News when the Denver, Colorado temple was dedicated but I could be totally wrong. I also want to say that the prophecy was by Heber C. Kimball.

The prophecy said that before the Savior returned there would be hundreds of temples dotting the earth. As a kid and into adulthood, I have followed the number of temples pretty closely. It looked like hitting 101+ temples was a long ways off, but as we now know that target was surpassed back in 2000. Can anyone tell me if there was such a prophecy and who said it and what exactly the prophecy said?

It was Harold B. Lee who said it, but yes. “During his administration, President Lee visited the Holy Land, the first Church President in this dispensation to do so. He also announced that smaller temples would now be constructed and would eventually dot the world." (from D&C and Church History Student Study Guide, President Harold B. Lee; A Giant Redwood.)

We have two new temples here in the Phoenix area (Chandler and Phoenix) and I can unequivocally say that the temples are beautiful, add a great deal to the area landscape, and do nothing but improve the areas in which they are constructed. The wonderful, attractive architecture, the manicured grounds with flowers and trees and green areas, and the spirit of reverence that accompanies each edifice is truly a blessing to every city and neighborhood where they appear. Bravo to the Church for continuing to dot the earth with these holy facilities!

Article makes me wonder, if the church has to many irons in the fire.

Actually, President Brigham Young was the first to prophesied of "hundreds of temples" being built. His talk is in the Journal of Discourses, Volume 10, Number 50. The title is "Tithing—Building Temples—Gold, Its Production and Uses—Govermental Policy Towards Utah—Providing Bread for the Poor." (Remarks by President Brigham Young, made in the Bowery, Great Salt Lake City, October 6, 1863). (scriptures.byu.edu - search for key words "hundreds temples", and it would give you a list.)

"There will be hundreds of them built and dedicated to the Lord. This Temple will be known as the first Temple built in the mountains by the Latter-day Saints. And when the Millennium is over, and all the sons and daughters of Adam and Eve, down to the last of their posterity, who come within the reach of the clemency of the Gospel, have been redeemed in hundreds of Temples through the administration of their children as proxies for them ..."

We could arrange to have the missionaries come and explain.

Maybe there could be a Temple in or near Battle Mountain NV someday, I think that would be nice.
