South Jordan, UT

These lists always have some subjectivity but some positions have more stats. Looking at head to head games and common competition should make it more obvious. Jordan and Bingham played each other, both played Alta, and both played Brighton twice. These were playoff quality teams not the bottom of the barrel. With that said, Jordan quarterback have 4 throwing TD's and 13 int's, Bingham Qtr. had 8 Td's and 4 int's in same match-ups. Combined QB rating by MaxPrep's was 46 for Jordan and 86 for Bingham. How is Jordan QB the best in region 3?

Who does this stuff??? American Fork does not make the playoffs and they have 8 guys on the all region teram. PG shares the Region championship and they have 6. Lone Peak, who shared the region, has 7 with murdock listed on the wrong team (PG). Herriman has 5 total and they shared the region title and Riverton has 7 and they shared the region title. What that says to me is the AF coaches are not very good.

My belief is that these teams are made up of kids that the coaches want to receive extra recognition. I would imagine that coaches provide a list of kids that they want on the teams. These are notAll Region Teams...made up of the best at each position, like 1 QB, 5 OL, 1-2 RB, etc... Region 8 has 4 QBs listed, granted one is the Gustin kid from Salem that also played Linebacker. The whole thing is kind of strange. So, if the MVP is a QB, and the Outanding player is a QB, are any other QB's listed really 3rd or 4th string? I am sure that all of the players listed are deserving of recognition for their achievements.

This would be easier to swallow if they just called it what it is...

Congratulations JD kids in 3AA North - Nice work Cole and Harry as MVP's! Great senior year boys. Looking forward to seeing what the next class can do.

I agree with USC, ther are some inconsistencies that don't make sense.

I noticed that in our town, and in our 3AA class that htere are some some selections that make you stratch your head. One kid who plays QB/LB only played 4 games the entire year and only two were in season region games, and he is first team. Another kid was the leading rusher in the state and isn't on the first team all re-gion, but first team all state. One receiver missed 4 games and is ranked 51st in receiving and 21st in rushing and he made first team all region. Another kid makes all state first team in coaches trib poll as a rusher who missed 5 games and he is not first team region.

They must have two different sets of coaches voting or there is something else going on.
