Is Boise State finally going to break through to the national title game? On the shoulders of Utah, TCU and their own former teams, the Broncos have been knocking on the national title game door for a couple of years now. They play a little bit tougher of a schedule, and the deep SEC may beat up each of the teams enough to pave a path to New Orleans for Boise State. We’ll know pretty quickly if they will contend when they travel to Atlanta to play Georgia the first week of the season. Of course, TCU might also have something to say about it.

Question: can Utah compete for the rose bowl in their first year in the Pac-12?
Answer: No. They will be 6th overall, and be going to the Poinsettia Bowl, just like 2009.
Some things never change.
Coug-Indy,
You do understand that BYU is under contract to play in the Poinsettia bowl in 2012 if they win 6 games or more, right?
BYU will go to the Poinsettia bowl in 2012 unless of course they are in a BCS game, namely; the National Title game
I always like "lists" to tear apart! Re: #10- Boise MUST run the table on another undefeated season to even sniff a BCS BOWL chance, and I see that happening (i.e., TCU!). No way will they even be considered for a BCS Championship. Realistically, only BCS-qualifying conferences are considered for the "big dance." As a pre-season #13 rank in the AP Poll, no way for TCU to contend for a BCS championship, either. Remember both are currently in the VERY weak MWC. Re: #7, I love my Cougs, but let's be serious. No realistic chance of BCS Bowl consideration this season-- not even close. I don't think they'll start the season at 0-3, but I see them having 3-4 losses by the end of the season. No BCS Bowl for a while. #2- With USC still banned from bowl consideration, Utah has a "chance" for the Rose Bowl, but not a realistic chance. Remember, they're in the Big Boy Conf now-- week in and week out, game planning for very strong teams. It's not like having 4-5 weeks to game plan for "One" bowl game. Week in; Week out, Utes!!
Correction: I "DON'T" see Boise State running the table this year.
