Panthers defense swallows Kaepernick

The Carolina Panthers faced the defending NFC champions the San Francisco 49ers Sunday in a highly anticipated defensive match-up and won, 10-9, to win their fifth consecutive game.

While the defensive battle was evenly matched, the Panthers' constant pressure made the difference in holding 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick to only 91 passing yards and sacking him six times.

With the win, the Panthers are just one game behind the Saints for the division lead. Extending their win streak further won't be easy, however. Carolina hosts Tom Brady and the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football.
