Incognito vs. Martin controversy is destroying the Dolphins season

With the Richard Incognito and Jonathan Martin controversy splattered across the pages of nearly every newspaper and sliding across the ticker of every sports channel, the Miami Dolphins have been the focus of much scrutiny.

No matter what the Dolphins players and organization say or think, the distraction is at an all-time high. An interview with Incognito was released over the weekend, and any previously smothered fires were rekindled.

Parties in support of Incognito or Martin continue to bring to light new evidence to light in hopes of condemning the other party.

No matter who comes out on top, this seems to be a lose-lose situation for the Dolphins, a team that did its best to suit up against the winless Buccaneers Monday night. Despite their best efforts, the Dolphins never found a consistent rhythm and lost 22-19.

The Dolphins have given up an NFL-leading 37 sacks this season, and with neither Incognito or Martin in the line-up, the offensive line doesn't look like it will improve any time soon.

For a team that started the season 3-0 and had high playoff hopes, the controversy seems to have gotten to it. As Miami's season crumbles before its eyes, the controversy seems to be in the eye of the storm.

The Dolphins hope to survive the controversy and spark something new against the San Diego Chargers in Week 11.
