2011 5A darkhorse: Hunter
(Not a fan of this format)
I join these calling for publishing a list without all the clicking.
I have a hard time believing that viewmont started all underclassmen last year, as that is what it would take to return 11 starters on both sides of the ball.
Utahute16,
I think coach Hamilton does make Hunter a contender... Just not the first year. It will be in year 2 or 3.
I'm excited to see how Tooele High fares with all the changes that we're seeing. New division (3A), new coach (Kyle Brady). It should be exciting to witness. Go Buffs!
I'd be wary of Syracuse if your school is on their schedule. Russ Jones is one of the best football coaches I have ever seen.
Davis is always competitive. Hats off to the DHS coaching staff!
Hunter?! Known for its power running game? Where am I? What's the date today? New coach, new offense, number anything let alone #16. What you guys smokin?
High hopes for Hurricane this year--new field and facilities and lot's of hunger for that title. The Tigers are at Skyline and then host West Jordan at Dizie State College before opening their first home game in the new Tiger Stadium vs. Tooele. It's going to be fun!
This looks very similar the the Top 25 rankings that UT Prep.com posted, only they had Timpview at freaking number 2!!!
my final 4 in 5A - Alta, Lone Peak, Fremont, Davis
my final 4 in 4A - Westlake, Skyline, East, Springville
You pick Westlake to win Region 7 and then have Skyline ranked ahead of them, what gives? I agree with some that Westlake is a bit undisciplined but this is only their third year of existence. I'm betting that will change now that they have Coach Clark (former Timpview Coach) who has years of experience and success.
I'm hearing they have been struggling with injuries and new players on Offense but their defense has huge potential and could be one of the best in the state (in any class). I predict they'll give Cottonwood all they're going to be able to handle and it will be one of the first big upsets of the season! After watching Cottonwoods video on here, they may be looking past Westlake and that's a big mistake!
