Kicker Justin Sorensen is BYU’s leading scorer with 39 points, averaging 7.8 points per game. He has made 8-of-9 field goal attempts and is a perfect 15-15 on his PAT attempts. Taysom Hill is BYU’s second leading scorer with 36 points, having scored six rushing touchdowns. Combined, Sorensen and Hill have scored 75 points, which is 54.7 percent of BYU’s team total of 137 points.

We need to stop playing it so conservative with our FG kicker. We haven't been that great in the red zone all season and punting when we're in FG range doesn't make sense when we're losing close games to teams we should be beating.

Because we're so inefficient on offense and fail to execute consistently in the red zone, any chance we have to put points on the board we need to take advantage of it. Even if it means kicking a 50 yder. Sorenson has the leg and we need to start taking advantage of it. Its the only way he'll build any confidence. Having Taysom Hill pooch punt on 4th down on the opponents 30 yd line doesn't accomplish anything. Having 3 pts in a close game will.
