Through six seasons, the former Ute and LDS convert has tallied 561 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, 16 interceptions and five sacks. His 10 interceptions over the last two seasons are tied for third-most in the NFL, and among his 16 picks, three were returned for touchdowns. He was a Pro Bowl starter in 2011. He led the team with 111 tackles last year and was voted the Chargers’ Most Valuable Player by his teammates while also earning all-pro honors.

Don't forget Isaac Sopoaga, Philadelphia Eagles.

Vic So'oto just signed with the Arizona Cardinals (active roster)

Floyd Johnson

This article includes a number of remarkable stories. The most remarkable is that John Denney has been in the league for 8 years as a deep snapper. Well done sir, my hat is off to you.

Interesting how few players on this list came out of BYU. Illustrates BYU's lack of success recruiting LDS talent.

And not every BYU player to go to the NFL was LDS. More impressive is the list of head coaches who came through BYU. At one time there were three active: Reid, Holmgren and Billick. And to the utes who find a way to spin negative on everything, how many of the ute coaching staff also came through BYU? Count 'em.

Why would any of these guys pursue a career that forces them to work on the Sabbath day? I know of many BYU players who did not go into the draft because they did not agree with having to provide entertainment for others on the Sabbath day.

Provo, UT

John Lotulelei is LDS as well...played at UNLV.

Williston, FL

I believe Alex Smith was left off this list as well. I looked twice to make sure i didn't skip him but i don't see him there!

I don't know the name, but I remember when my mother still lived in Indianapolis, there was a new Colts player who moved into her ward, and most everyone in the ward knew he was coming. But there was one lady who was the type to really welcome people into the ward, but was completely ignorant about sports. So she went up to him and asked, "And what brings you to Indianapolis?"

He just laughed and said "Athletics." :-D

If you are a talented football player, good enough to be professional, you play on Sunday. If you are an airline pilot, you will have to fly on Sunday. I have it on good authority that General Authorities fly back to SLC on Sundays. There are few professions that can guarantee no Sunday Work. I am happy for Ironmania that the cocoon he/she lives in protects her from this truth.

Actually, 8 are from BYU, the same number that are from Utah. 15 are from schools other than BYU or Utah. I would say that speaks well for BYU and Utah.
