Record: 1-2

Last week: Won 34-17 against Cal Poly

Up next: at No. 1 Alabama (3-0)

Colorado State picked up its first win of the season last Saturday when it beat Cal Poly 34-17. The Rams went pass happy in the win.

Colorado State quarterback Garrett Grayson had a nice game, going 21-for-30 for 297 yards and two touchdowns. Equally impressive, Grayson had no turnovers. Colorado State running back Chris Nwoke had an impressive game, rushing for 133 yards on 19 carries.

Hopefully Colorado State fans enjoyed the game because this week’s game against Alabama won’t be pretty. Alabama stayed undefeated, beating No. 6 Texas A&M 49-42 in College Station, Texas, Saturday.

It should be an entertaining rivalry game between two mediocre teams. My guess is that Utah will have trouble with BYUs defense, BYU wont.

Yeah, with Weber State and Oregon State as their most recent opponents, it is pretty safe to say that the quality of BYU's defense will be a bit foreign to the Utes. The most interesting match-ups appear to be the defenses and the QBs for both sides (particularly Wilson vs the raw BYU secondary and Hill vs the Ute front [cover 0? cover 1?]). I expect a good game and am optimistic (as any fan should be) about the Cougars chances. Can hardly wait for Saturday.

Did anyone see that Kansas lost and Heaps threw 2 interceptions? I hope he improves. Kansas can be a good team.

Go Cougars!!

Texas 1-2 after non-conference play. That's a solid case for people who say pre-season rankings are meaningless.

@SoonerUte

I thought so as well.

I see the USC game as another test like Utah. The comparison games are fun, but teams are usually better than their worst loss and worse than their best win by the time the season is done. So yes, Oregon State lost to EWU, but I think they're better than that and Utah played them really tight. Utah finally seems to have found a quarterback - something they did not have last year or the previous couple of years.

USU has been here before: Wisconsin, Auburn, Utah this year, and BYU the last 2 years. We're on the road against a quality opponent. Time to close the deal and bring home the win.

Where's Chris B? I marked it down where he said the Utes would beat Oregon State.

I have to admit, Utah has seen no defense. Van Noy and company will be in Wilson's nightmares come Sunday......That said, which BYU offense will show up?

Yes, we all know that Texas was overrated. But it was a quality win for BYU, and haters on the hill are having a hard time coming to grips with it. How many ranked teams has Utah beaten this year?

Ducks are better than the Tide. Good thing there's a playoff.

I feel that this week will be the litmus test for the Aggies, Utes, and Cougs. Are the Cougs as bad as they were against Virginia, or as good as they were against Texas. Is the PAC 12 really as good as conference as they claim to be, or are the Utes just over their heads. The Cougar / Utes game will be a good indication. And will the Aggies finally be able to pull out a win over a quality opponent. Beating USC on their home field would be a great indicator. Good luck to all three of them. The loser of the BYU/Utah game will be in for a long season.
