Wasn't BYU the only meaningful school to recruit Young out of High School?
I don't think he had any "stars" in the recruiting circles.
His success as a College and NFL player must have been just a complete fluke....

Wilson #3

@ Don't Feed the Trolls - "Wilson #3"

Why, because he played for BYU?

15,692 yards
55.5% completions
95 touchdowns
81 interceptions

14,391 yards
52.1% completions
86 touchdowns
102 interceptions

Both were good but Mitchell had a better NFL career.

I like how the author conveniently left out career interceptions for Detmer but listed the career int's for all USU QB's on the list, as if to prove that they were inferior because their TD-INT ratios weren't very good.
Fun fact, Detmer also had a pour ratio, 34 TD's to 35 Int's and was also one of only 7 QBs to ever throw 7 INT"s in a single game, the NFL record happens to be 8 in one game.

Wilson has a superbowl ring... does mitchell?

the name of the article is best NFL QB's.... Not college... Detmer did not throw 7 interceptions in a single game while in the NFL....

"Wilson has a superbowl ring"

If the rankings were about who best carried NFL clipboards to get a ring, Wilson would be a shoo-in at #3.

"Detmer did not throw 7 interceptions in a single game while in the NFL...."

Wrong again. According to NFLdotcom, on Sept. 23, 2001 Detmer started for the Lions against his old team and threw 7 picks (and 1 TD) in a 24-14 loss to the Browns.
