Years at Utah: 2007-10

Wide spent four seasons with the Utes but barely touched the ball until an injury propelled him into the starting lineup midway through his junior year. Wide made the most of his carries to put up a huge season, carrying the ball 203 times for 1,069 yards and 12 touchdowns.

For his career as a Ute, Wide carried the ball 401 times for 2,013 yards and 23 touchdowns. Wide also caught 51 passes for 425 yards and three scores.

Good list. I wasn't around for Eddie Johnson so I have a hard time putting him at the top. In my book, John White IV is the greatest runningback in Utah history. I think Matt Asiata deserves a spot on this list and you could make a case for Marty Johnson as well.

Sandy, UT

My favorite Del "popcorn" rogers for one play. On Utah's first play from scrimmage at what was then Cougar stadium he carried the ball over 70 yards for a touchdown. Stunning a highly favored Cougar team and silencing the home fans.

Cottonwood Heights, UT

I'm glad to see Mike Anderson here.

Not only was he a bruising, productive back, his story is all the more remarkable because he played in his high school band instead of on the football team and then spent several years in the Marine Corps and a couple more playing JC ball before Coach McBride gave him a chance. For those reasons he'll always be at or near the top of my favorites list.
