A year after Skyline dominated the 4A All-Sports award, Mountain Crest claimed the top honor in a very balanced 4A landscape as it edged Timpview by less than a point.

Mountain Crest finished with 55.5 points, followed closely by Timpview with 55 points.

Thirteen different teams won state championships this past school year, with only 12 points separating the top six teams. By comparison, 50 points separated the top six teams in 5A.

The All-Sports title was Mountain Crest's first since claiming the award in 2010-2011, and its fourth in school history. The Mustangs won state titles in boys swimming and girls cross country, including runner-up finishes in football, boys basketball and girls swimming.

Bonneville finished third, with Orem, Bountiful and Skyline rounding out the top six.

All 26 teams in 4A earned All-Sports points.

Editor's note: Since publication, an calculation error was discovered in 4A wrestling, which changed the overall winner from Timpview to Mountain Crest.
