Southeast Sterling Scholars honored at USU

Outstanding high school students were recognized during the 33rd annual Southeast Utah Sterling Scholar competition held at USU Eastern last month.

Students from Carbon, Emery, Grand, Monticello, Monument Valley, San Juan and Whitehorse high schools competed in the program. More than 50 nominees vied for the Sterling Scholar award in 12 different categories.

Carbon High students were winners in six categories (business & marketing, English, foreign language, mathematics, music and social science). Emery High had multiple winners with three, while Grand High had two winners.
