In the build-up to tonight's CONCACAF Champions League finale between Real Salt Lake and Monterrey, the Deseret News tried to get RSL fans pumped up via Twitter by highlighting some of the player transactions through the years that made it all possible.

Listed in chronological order, here's a recap of 14 noteworthy transactions in RSL history that were listed throughout the day today.

Schenectady, NY

Overrated here: Beltran, Wingert (Wingert's an important player, but the Argentina trip and Beckerman were bigger)
Underrated here: Beckerman, Andy Williams (I know that's not from the era this seems to focus on, but you need to make an exception here)

Holladay, UT

These are in chronological order, not order of importance.

Bountiful, UT

Not did Garlick retire but we actually got Rimando first in the Adu trade and we gave him away to NY before Garlick suddenly retired. That was a close one but one that really worked out for us.
