BYU basketball connections to the NIT

This will be BYU's 11th appearance in the NIT, with the Cougars owning a 12-8 record.

When BYU and Washington play Tuesday night, it will be on the 47th anniversary of the Cougars' 1966 title-game victory over NYU. That game is the only other time BYU has played in the postseason tournament on March 19.

The Cougars are 3-2 against teams from the West.
