Since the loss to Washington in 1982, BYU has rattled off six straight wins in Provo in the NIT. In 1986 and 2000, the Cougars played a pair of home games.

In those six wins, BYU was victorious by double digits four times and won by an average of 11.5 points per game.

The Cougars have twice beaten UC Irvine in Provo in the postseason tournament. This includes BYU's most recent NIT game at the Marriott Center, when the Cougars beat the Anteaters 78-55 on March 14, 2002. In that game, Travis Hansen led BYU with 23 points and Matt Montague had 12 assists.

The Cougars are also 6-2 in neutral-site NIT games, all played in New York.
