Might I add an eleventh, twelfth and thirteenth?
11. Make sure they see positive acts and expressions of love by you toward your spouse, who often is the father or mother, step-father or step-mother, or adoptive parent of the child. As much as any other act or attitude you portray to the child, this one prepares the child for happiness in life and gives the child a role model for, in turn, showing respect and love for your spouse.
12. Make sure they see positive acts and expressions of love by you toward God, who is their heavenly Parent. Perhaps more than any other act or attitude you portray to the child, this one prepares the child for happiness and joy in life and gives the child a role model for, in turn, loving God and all His children.
13. Invite your child to not only see you do things in the above list but also to follow your example in practicing all of the traits and attributes mentioned in the list. When they see in their own lives that these traits and attributes develop in them love for others, they will realize how much you loved them.
