Prep editor James Edward’s bracket: Loss to Lone Peak in semifinals.

Edward’s evaluation: Brighton surprised many by advancing to last year’s 5A championship, but it won’t sneak up on anybody this year. It has been ranked near the top of 5A all season, and features the third-highest scoring offense in 5A and the second-stingiest defense. There’s no reason this senior-laden team shouldn’t easily march to the semifinals. After that, No. 1 Lone Peak will be waiting. The Bengals lost to Lone Peak by 20 earlier this season, and it would probably take a miracle to change that outcome in the rematch.
