#34 Tyler Rawson, Jr., Forward (8.4 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 3.0 apg)

Scoring offense: 59.2 ppg (12th in 5A)
Scoring defense: 55.4 ppg (10th in 5A)
Last state championship: 1979 (3A)
Prep editor James Edward’s bracket: Loss to Syracuse in quarterfinals.
Edward’s evaluation: A year ago this time, American Fork entered the playoffs with legitimate state title hopes. Expectations are much different this year, but the Cavemen have proved they’re capable of marching through the top half of the bracket after an impressive second-place finish in Region 4. American Fork has lost four games since the calendar flipped to 2013, twice to Lone Peak — no shame there — and double-overtime losses to Pleasant Grove and Syracuse. It opens with a tough matchup against Jordan, one of the highest-scoring teams in 5A.
