Who put together this list? Yikes!

Try BBC production of North and South, Keira Kneightly in Pride & Prejudice, Jane Seymour in The Scarlett Pimpernel, etc.

The Blues Brothers!

The Balloonatic

Nice list, Ms. Lewis, it included some of my faves. For fun, here's my list.
Not in any order: Random Harvest, It (Clara Bow version, not the one with scary clown), Alice Adams, Marriage Italian Style, Three Loves Has Nancy, Emma, Mr. And Mrs. Smith (Brangelina version, not Hitchcock, though that's good as well), My Favorite Wife, Pillow Talk, Roman Holiday.

Good list! IQ with Walter Mathau as Einstein and Meg Ryan as his niece would be another great addition to the list.

Don't forget BBC's "Emma"!

Notting Hill, About a Boy, Sweet Home Alabama, Music and Lyrics, Love comes softly... (I know there is a lot of Hugh Grant, but he is good) These are all must see!!!

The key word here is "timeless". Some of the commenters choices haven't been around long enough to be timeless or to have the general appeal to merit the label of "timeless".

Interesting that you say Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan have undeniable chemistry in Sleepless in Seattle when they're only in the same room together for about 2 mins.

I would have added Pure Country, but the list is definitely one I agree with.

All good films, but noticeably absent is "Somewhere in Time" with Christoper Reeve and Jane Seymour. A great V-day film.
