Real Salt Lake has recently gone through a roster overhaul releasing and trading away players who were part of their 2009 MLS Cup championship team. RSL is welcoming nine newcomers to their 2013 preseason roster.
RSL drafted two of these players in the MLS SuperDraft this week. Another one of these players was part of the 2009 championship team and spent some time in Europe.
Speaking of Europeans, one of these players is a frenchman who has been training within the Atletico Madrid organization.
Stateside, four of the players RSL acquired came from current MLS sides.
The final player was previously drafted by RSL in 2011, but was released before the season began.
Only time will tell if this team has what it takes to compete for a Supporters Shield, a U.S. Open Cup or an MLS cup.
