How BYU's 2012 football opponents fared: Week 12
Record: 1-9, 0-5 WAC
Last week: Bye
The only winless team in WAC conference play, the Aggies had last week off to try to prepare for BYU.
It's not likely to help, though. New Mexico State ranks in the bottom quarter of FBS teams in rushing yards, scoring offense and scoring defense. They've lost nine straight games, and their only win is against FCS school Sacramento State.
Perhaps the lone bright spot is wide receiver Austin Franklin, who has rolled up 1135 yards and nine touchdowns this season.
Next up: Saturday, Nov. 24 vs. BYU

It is being reported on ESPN that along with SDSU and Boise State, BYU is in talks with the Mountain West Conference! If all three rejoin, and they can convince LA Tech to come in as the 14th, that would be a pretty good conference!
We're getting the band back together! YEAH. With as weak as the leftover Big East would be, maybe the MWC could get an AQ BCS game.
I guess the highest ranked team in the five conferences (Big East, C-USA, MAC, Sun Belt, and MWC) gets the AQ BCS game according to ESPN.
I know I am going to have a bunch of BYU fans yell me down, but I think it would be great for BYU to rejoin the MWC. They could have the last game of the year against USU for the Wagon Wheel and have a bunch of other entertaining games instead of the fillers they had to do with independence. That conference could probably get a good TV deal, too.
I still think BYU's best move is to join the Big 12, but according to some sources like Bolerjack, they basically were invited in that the Big 12 started talking with them, and BYU basically turned it down by asking for their own TV deal, so the MWC is the next best thing--FAR better than independence.
