This is an interesting article, but it would be more meaningful if you included what they're doing now. Some are productive in later life, some are not.

Provo, UT

Ray Groth became a successful high school coach. He was the head coach at Skyline, Granger, Highland and Tooele High Schools and was an assistant coach at a few others.

Gifford Nielsen I know became a broadcaster for the Oilers.

But yes, a where are they now thing would be interesting...

South Jordan, UT

Great article. It must have taken a lot of work. The other comments seem to be focused on what the article doesn't offer. My primary comment is to say that what the article does offer, is quite interesting. I'm not going to take a gift like this and wish it were something more. An article about where are they now, for 76 players, would have taken a prohibitively enormous amount of work.

Thanks for the piece. I also think it is a great thing to spotlight players from times gone by. At one time, each of those players was a star at the college level, and brought a lot of happiness to the people in this state. I think it is interesting that a couple of the players made a comeback during the strick season in the late 80s. I love second chances.

Looking forward to the next pieces in this series. I expect Marc Wilson to be in there, in the 1980s draftees. It's too bad we don't get to see the draftees from the 1960s, to read again about Merlin Olsen, that never gets old. At least he got a mention as Phil's brother, in this piece.

A couple of players who were left off the list. Walt Love 1973 Westminster College drafted in the 10th round by the New York Giants. Played one year before injuries kept him from continuing. Len Walterscheid 1975 drafted by Chicago Bears played three seasons I believe.

Ike Spencer is a successful and well-loved Jr High School Principal teaching in the Salt lake Valley.

San Ramon, CA

Dave Costa, who played at U of U, had a long and illustrious career in the NFL.
The list keeps growing! Good stuff.

Thought of another...Halvor Hagen, who played at Weber State, then went on to play in the NFL for 5 or 6 years, I believe. Might be the first NFL player born in Norway...and wasn't a kicker!
